City of Eastvale Partners with YMCA and JCSD for SPLASH Week Swim Lessons
EASTVALE, CALIF. – The City of Eastvale is excited to announce its first-ever SPLASH Week, a water safety and swim lesson program hosted by the Corona-Norco Family YMCA at Eleanor Roosevelt High School. SPLASH Week teaches fundamental swimming skills and water safety techniques to children and families, helping to reduce the risk of drowning and promoting confidence in the water.
“Swim lessons have been one of the most requested programs in our community,” said Mayor Mike McMinn. “Providing access to water safety education has been a priority for our City Council and staff, and we are proud to finally bring this much-needed resource to Eastvale.” Similarly, “JCSD is thrilled to join forces with our partners in introducing aquatic programming to Eastvale,” said JCSD President Betty Folsom. “Through this initiative, we are fulfilling a much-needed service, reflecting our collective dedication to serving our community’s interests.”
The program is open to participants of all ages, from infants as young as six months to adults, ensuring that everyone has access to vital water safety skills. Lessons will be held in a heated pool, making learning both comfortable and enjoyable.
President and CEO of the Corona-Norco Family YMCA, Audrie Echnoz, is equally eager to launch this program, stating, “The Corona-Norco Family YMCA is proud to partner with the City of Eastvale, JCSD, and CNUSD to provide high-quality swim lessons and essential water safety education to our community. Together, we are committed to equipping children and families with the skills and confidence needed to enjoy the water safely. Through this collaboration, we are building a stronger, safer, and more connected community.”
Residents will be able to participate in a one-week session from June 9 to June 13 or a two-week session from July 17 to August 1. Classes are 30 minutes long, with times varying based on the chosen session.
Financial assistance is available for qualifying families, ensuring that cost is not a barrier to learning these life-saving skills. For more information or to see if you qualify, contact the Aquatics Department at Swim@ymcacornor.org or call 951.284.4585.
